Antenatal Clinic

- The Antenatal clinic is held on a Monday morning.
- Requires GP Referral? No
If you have done a pregnancy test at home, which is positive, you can call the surgery to arrange your first appointment with the midwife. This is usually when you think you are about 8 weeks and the appointment can take up to 1 hour.

Asthma Clinic

- We run various clinics from Monday to Friday with the Practice Nurse. Please call the surgery for appointment availability.

Asthma is a common lung condition that causes occasional breathing difficulties. If you have asthma, you should have an annual asthma review with the Practice Nurse. If you feel your asthma symptoms are worsened at any point, you can contact the surgery during our opening hours to arrange an appointment; you do not need to wait for your annual review.

Cervical Smear

Cervical screening checks the health of your cervix. All women and people with a cervix, aged 25-64 will be invited by a letter from NHS England for a cervical smear. During the screening appointment, a small sample of cells will be taken from your cervix. The sample is checked for certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV) that can cause changes to the cells of your cervix. These are called "high risk" types of HPV. You'll get your results via a letter from NHS England which will explain what happens next.

Child Immunisations

It's important that vaccines are given on time for the best protection; so when you receive your letter from NHS England advising that your child’s immunisations are due, please contact the surgery to book an appointment. Remember to bring your child’s Red book to the appointment with you. If your child has a high temperature, they cannot have their vaccinations, so please do not bring them to the appointment and contact the surgery to re-arrange it.

Contraceptives - Own

- We run various clinics from Monday to Friday with the GP/Practice Nurse. Please call the surgery for appointment availability.

If you require contraceptive advice, the Doctor can discuss the different methods of contraception available.
If you are taking the contraceptive pill you need to have a ‘pill check’ with the Practice Nurse every 6 months.
If you require the “morning after pill” you should contact the surgery as soon as possible after having unprotected sex. You can also get the “morning after pill” over the counter at most pharmacies or from the Integrated Sexual Health Clinic on the 3rd Floor of the City of Coventry Health Centre. The clinic can be contacted on 0300 020 0027.

Diabetes Clinic

Diabetes is a lifelong condition that causes a person's blood sugar level to become too high. If you have diabetes, you should have an annual diabetic review with the Practice Nurse. If you check your blood sugars regularly at home and feel you are not able to control them, you can contact the surgery during our opening hours to arrange an appointment; you do not need to wait for your annual review.

Healthy Weight Clinic

Being either extremely overweight or extremely underweight is not good for your health. If you are concerned about you or your child’s weight, you can contact the surgery to book an appointment with the Practice Nurse, who can advise you about your weight and diet.

Heart Disease

Coronary heart disease is the term that describes what happens when your heart's blood supply is blocked or interrupted by a build-up of fatty substances in the coronary arteries. If you are known with CHD, you should have an annual review with the Practice Nurse. However, if you are concerned about any symptoms, you can contact the surgery during our opening hours to arrange an appointment; you do not need to wait for your annual review.

Hypertension

Around a third of adults in the UK have high blood pressure, although many will not realise it. The only way to find out if your blood pressure is high is to have your blood pressure checked. If you have hypertension, you should have an annual review with the Practice Nurse. If you are concerned that any symptoms you are experiencing may be due to high blood pressure, you can contact the surgery during our opening hours to arrange an appointment; you do not need to wait for your annual review.

Minor Surgery

Some minor surgical problems can be dealt with at the surgery. The doctor will advise you whether this is appropriate or not after an initial consultation.
Travel Health

If you're planning to travel outside the UK, you may need to be vaccinated against some of the serious diseases found in other parts of the world. Please contact the surgery or complete the online travel questionnaire form at least 4-6 weeks before you are due to travel. We will need details of your planned travel; including date, duration and mode of travel as well as where you will be staying. This will then be given to the Practice Nurse to advise which vaccinations you require based on your vaccination history. We will then contact you to arrange an appointment if you require any travel vaccinations/advice. This appointment MUST be at least 2 weeks before you travel.
